Area Panel

Situated in the south of England, we are extremely lucky to have the best of both: rural villages with rolling open fields mixed with the likes of Newbury Town Centre with its busy high street, a historical Market Town.

Covering 272 square miles, around 60 per cent of our area is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Newbury is the largest town in West Berkshire, although Hungerford, Pangbourne, Thatcham, Theale and Tilehurst are also significant communities, along with the suburbs that border Reading in the east.

Here in West Berkshire we have exceptional transport links that connect us with many areas across the south of England. Both the M4 and A34 are easily accessible, connecting us with Reading, London, Oxford, Southampton, Swindon and Bristol - all within an hour's drive of the area. We also have a good rail network, connecting many of our rural villages with mainline routes throughout the country.
