Strategy and Governance is a diverse service area which includes a wide range of functions, many of which the council has a legal duty to undertake.
Service Areas
The department provides essential day-to-day support to many of the council's priority areas and the core business. It is therefore home to a wide range of roles which provide opportunities to get involved with exciting projects, offer an excellent experience for our customers, and keep the rest of the organisation on track.

Audit
Our Internal Audit Service provide an assurance function to the rest of the council, providing independent and objective opinion on risk management, control and governance.
Human Resources
Our roles in Human Resources are based around supporting the council and its staff. Human Resources are responsible for supporting the recruitment, training and development of staff, employee relations and payroll to name a few.
Legal and Democratic Services
Our roles in Legal and Democratic Services are responsible for providing legal support across the council in a variety of fields and managing the democratic function of the council.
