Children's Social Work in West Berkshire

We are looking for social workers who are passionate about keeping children safe and know the importance of developing relationships and building on a family's strengths to keep them together.

It is vital for our social workers to have determination and high aspirations for children, families and communities.

We want to continue to be at the cutting edge of social work practice, ensuring that what matters is what works for families. To achieve this means being committed to working with our partners to provide the highest levels of support, recognising the diversity of our communities and practicing in a way that improves and enhances equality and well-being.

Our Family Safeguarding Model seeks to motivate families to make sustained change. In our teams you will be working in collaboration with other Social Workers and Family Support Workers, as well as specialist workers who support adults around Domestic Abuse, Substance Misuse and Mental Health, all working as one team.

We have a strong emphasis on relationship-based practice and aim to work with children, young people and their parents and carers in a way which recognises and builds on their strengths to keep more children safely at home with their families.
