Systems Team

Summary

We are the Systems Team, based in Adults Social Care.  We support all users of our Social Care Case Management System - Care Director.  These users are from both Adults and Childrens Social Care.  We are responsible for system maintenance and development, SQL report writing, running a helpdesk to assist our users, project support and document creation.

We are a small team of 3, and we support approximately 693 system users.  There are some 6,600 active clients in the system, all using services West Berkshire Council provides.


The Opportunity

Working with the Systems Team for a two day placement you will gain a variety of experience which will include:

  • Systems training - how to deliver training to system users
  • General support - supporting system users via our helpdesk
  • Report writing - using SQL skills to write reports to extract data from the system
  • System development - creating new dashboards and documents within a test system
  • ICT experience of using a large IT system at a Council

The Ideal Candidate

You will have the following attributes:

  • Strong interest in ICT and the use of systems
  • An interest in Social Care and what a Council offers in this area
  • Good communication skills
  • ICT skills with programming and /or reporting languages such as Python, SQL, xml.
  • Willingness to learn new things and share ideas.
