Paul Coe, Adult Care Head of Service talks about how the Adult Social Care team works at West Berkshire

How we work

West Berkshire Council was a pioneer in adopting the strength based approach to our work. The key principles recognise that:

  • People are experts in their own lives and we will work collaboratively with them
  • Our approach begins with a focus on their strengths and how we can build on them
  • We will work to ensure that individuals can maintain the maximum independence possible.

Where do we work?

Our staff work in many settings including West Berkshire run care homes, in the community (in people's own homes), in our resource (day) centres and in the council offices.
